We are seeking a Controller with their education in Accounting or Finance and 10 years of experience to join our team. This person will be responsible for managing day-to-day functions of Accounting as well as managing special projects as they relate to budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.

Join our dynamic team as a Permanent Controller in the Construction industry. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional with a strong background in accounting and financial management. We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic individual who can manage financial operations, provide accurate forecasting, and ensure regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in similar roles, with a strong emphasis on accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end close, year-end close, reporting, and forecasting.
Responsibilities :
1. Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate standards and regulatory requirements.
2. Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures.
3. Regularly produce financial reports and statements, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
4. Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors; assess any changes necessary.
5. Oversee and lead the annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes.
6. Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting. Implement a robust contracts management and financial management / reporting system.
7. Ensure that the accounts payable are paid in a timely manner and the accounts receivable are collected promptly.
8. Perform month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met.
9. Implement and manage financial control procedures and lead process improvement initiatives to improve the overall efficiency of the financial department.
10. Act as a key point of contact for external auditors; manage preparation and support of all external audits.
Qualifications :
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A CPA or related qualification is highly desirable.
2. Minimum of 5 years of accounting and financial management experience, preferably in the construction industry.
3. Proven expertise in accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end close, year-end close, forecasting, and reporting.
4. Strong understanding of construction accounting and project management software.
5. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing financial team.
6. Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.
7. Proven ability to work closely with executive-level management.
8. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present financial information to a non-financial audience.
9. Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with exceptional skills in Excel and financial software applications.
