Job Details
Responsibilities :
Represent clients across the food and agriculture industries in regulatory compliance, land use, supply chain issues, and litigation matters
Advise clients on legal matters related to agricultural operations, including farm ownership, contracts, food safety, environmental compliance, and labor issues
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including grower agreements, vendor contracts, and food distribution agreements
Handle litigation and dispute resolution involving agricultural business disputes, product liability, or regulatory enforcement actions
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including FDA, USDA, FSMA, and environmental statutes impacting the food and agriculture sectors
Develop and implement legal strategies to mitigate risk and promote business sustainability for clients in farming, food production, and related sectors
Qualifications :
5 years experience
Active member of the California Bar Association or eligibility for admission
Previous litigation experience, including drafting pleadings, discovery, and arguing motions
Experience advising clients in food production, farming, or agribusiness operations, either in-house or through private practice
Knowledge of federal and state regulatory frameworks governing food safety, agriculture, and environmental compliance
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively counsel diverse clients across the agriculture and food supply chain
