Biotechnology Research Scientist Position

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform culture and maintenance of BSL-1 microorganism laboratory cultures, including bacterial, fungal, algal, and protist cultures.
- Execute protocols for the genetic engineering and characterization of microorganisms.
- Assist in the design and lead execution of experiments within monitoring growth conditions of microbial organisms and determining microbial activity.
- Maintain laboratory equipment/supplies.
- Schedule and execute experimental protocols.
- Evaluate quality of procedures and data.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies.
- Prepare and present presentations and written documents summarizing efforts.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences and 1 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of synthetic biology or biotechnology or related field.
- Knowledge of microbiology as applied to non-medical biotechnology defense research.
- Experience designing and executing synthetic biology or biotechnology experiment in microorganisms.
- Understanding of basic molecular techniques.
