Looking for a great contract role with JOBOT?

This is an ongoing TEMP/Contract requirement for a great client of ours in Newport Beach, CA

Are you a seasoned professional in the Accounting and Finance industry with a deep understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)? Do you have a knack for analyzing financial data and spotting trends? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are seeking a dynamic Consulting AP Specialist (Contract) to join our team. This role offers you the chance to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment where you will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process from start to finish. You will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge of GAAP, general ledger, debits and credits, and month-end processes. This role is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, highly organized, and enjoys working with numbers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire accounts payable process, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Review and verify invoices, check requests, and expense reports.
• Set up new vendors, maintain existing vendor files, and perform periodic vendor audits.
• Prepare and perform check runs, electronic transfers, and ACH payments.
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions and prepare analysis of accounts.
• Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
• Produce monthly reports and assist with month-end closing.
• Maintain accurate historical records and ensure compliance with established internal controls and GAAP.
• Conduct trend analysis to identify potential areas of improvement and increase efficiency.
• Use pivot tables and vlookups to manipulate and analyze large data sets.
  
  

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in an AP role, preferably within the Accounting and Finance industry.
• In-depth understanding of GAAP, general ledger, debits and credits, and month-end processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with a strong emphasis on the use of pivot tables and vlookups.
• Strong analytical skills and experience in trends analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with accounting software and databases.
• High level of integrity and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
