Responsibilities
- Provide direct and consultative services to patients who are deaf or hard of hearing across a range of ages and medical conditions.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and treatment plans.
- Provide training and education to healthcare staff and family members about hearing loss, communication strategies, and appropriate accommodations.
- Advocate for the needs and rights of individuals with hearing loss within the healthcare setting.
- Utilize and promote the use of assistive listening devices, visual aids, and other communication tools.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
