We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Hybrid Accounting Manager for our prestigious law firm. The role offers a unique opportunity to blend a traditional accounting role with the exciting digital transformations happening in the industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing our accounting operations, including bank reconciliation, training accounting teams, preparing financial statements, and recording journal entries.

Job Details

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all areas
• Conduct regular bank reconciliations and monitor unapplied trust balances and unbilled WIP
• Train and mentor accounting teams to ensure best practices are followed
• Prepare and analyze billing and collections statements
• Review and approve expense reports
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Record journal entries and maintain the general ledger
• Develop and calculate budgets, provide statistical analysis, and prepare probability statements
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and professional standards
• Lead and manage special projects as needed
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the legal industry
• Experience with legal accounting software such as Aderant, Elite, SAP, BillBlast, eBillingHub, or equivalent
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and budgeting
• Excellent analytical skills, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail
• Proven experience in training and leading accounting teams
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is preferred but not required.
