We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual for the role of Payroll Administrator in our bustling construction company. This is a unique opportunity to become a part of our dedicated team, where you will be responsible for ensuring that our payroll functions are executed accurately and on time. Our ideal candidate is a proven problem solver with a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

As a Payroll Administrator, your key responsibilities will include

  • Managing the preparation, distribution, and reporting processes for payroll.
  • Ensuring compliance with current government regulations.
  • Establishing and implementing policies on matters such as payroll advancements to employees.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Preparing and submitting reports on payroll to upper management.
  • Resolving issues and answering payroll-related questions.
  • Administering benefits programs such as life, health, and dental insurance, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
  • Investigating and resolving any discrepancies in payroll.
  • Preparing and providing payroll information to the accounting department for preparation of financial statements.
  • Keeping abreast with new legislation impacting payroll and benefits, and ensuring that the necessary changes are made promptly.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll administration, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of payroll and benefits administration, laws, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and payroll software systems.
  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently, but also as part of a team.
