We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual for the role of Payroll Administrator in our bustling construction company. This is a unique opportunity to become a part of our dedicated team, where you will be responsible for ensuring that our payroll functions are executed accurately and on time. Our ideal candidate is a proven problem solver with a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities
As a Payroll Administrator, your key responsibilities will include
- Managing the preparation, distribution, and reporting processes for payroll.
- Ensuring compliance with current government regulations.
- Establishing and implementing policies on matters such as payroll advancements to employees.
- Ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
- Preparing and submitting reports on payroll to upper management.
- Resolving issues and answering payroll-related questions.
- Administering benefits programs such as life, health, and dental insurance, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
- Investigating and resolving any discrepancies in payroll.
- Preparing and providing payroll information to the accounting department for preparation of financial statements.
- Keeping abreast with new legislation impacting payroll and benefits, and ensuring that the necessary changes are made promptly.
To be successful in this role, you will need
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll administration, preferably within the construction industry.
- Comprehensive understanding of payroll and benefits administration, laws, and best practices.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and payroll software systems.
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently, but also as part of a team.
