Responsibilities
As a Senior Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include
- Overseeing the preparation and reconciliation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Analyzing financial information and summarizing financial status.
- Spotting errors and suggesting ways to improve efficiency and spending.
- Participating in financial standards setting and in forecast process.
- Providing technical support and advice on management.
- Reviewing and recommending modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
- Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department.
- Developing periodic reports for management.
- Auditing financial transactions and documents.
- Reinforcing financial data confidentiality and conducting database backups when necessary.
- Complying with all financial policies and regulations.
The ideal candidate for the Senior Accountant position will have
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or CPA certification is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
- Proven experience as a financial controller, accounting supervisor, chief or senior accountant.
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles.
- Awareness of business trends.
- Familiarity with financial accounting statements.
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like FreshBooks and QuickBooks.
- Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and work with diverse teams.
