Staff Accountant

Job Squad is currently assisting a client in search of a Staff Accountant, located in Delray Beach, FL, a curated emporium specializing in artisan-crafted jewelry, accessories, and homewares.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for timely and accurate preparation of financial accounting data in a variety of areas. It is essential that this candidate brings analytical and organizational skills in order to best support the accounting team.

Responsibilities:

• Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices and payments, expense reports, and credit card charges daily to keep accounts payable accurate. Prepare aging reports weekly for management review and payment.
• Accounts Receivable: Record customer payments, generate invoices, and follow up on outstanding receivables.
• Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations, identifying and resolving any discrepancies promptly.
• Payroll Processing: Process biweekly and monthly payroll accurately and efficiently through our PEO, Insperity
• Inventory Accounting: Assist with inventory accounting processes, including tracking, costing, reconciliation and preparation of Purchase Orders.
• Month-End Close: Assist in the month-end closing process, including preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring timely completion of all required tasks.
• Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management review, providing clear and concise insights into company performance.
• Ad-hoc Reporting: Prepare ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis as needed.
• Process Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting and finance functions.
• Employee Data Management: Maintain accurate employee time records in Insperity portal

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2 years of proven experience in accounting.
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles.
• Knowledge of accounting software – (QuickBooks Desktop Preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level) and other MS Office applications.
• Experience with payroll processing software (Insperity preferred).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
• Familiarity with Shopify preferred.
