Position: Logistics/Availability CSR
Pay: $22 per hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday; 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. OT as needed
Summary/Objective:
The Clerk will track and trace containers for availability and scheduled appointments with the terminals to pick up and return.
Essential Functions:
-Must respond to all inquiries from customers in a courteous and effective manner.
-Check Oakland terminal systems for drayage availability.
-Confirm gate fees are cleared to pull containers from the terminals.
-Track and trace containers; update ETAs in system.
-Understand customs procedures for the Bonded Warehouse and ensure that documents received for import, storage, and export purposes are compliant and correct.
-Answers Customer queries regarding availability of drayage services and deliveries in progress.
-Responsible for data entry by way of Excel spreadsheet with utmost accuracy.
-Contact terminals for container issues.
-Create daily reports for customers, ensuring accuracy in all reports provided.
-Create pickup appointments for import loads and return of empties.
-Work closely with the brokerage division, providing daily work assignments. Updating throughout the day as new work becomes available.
-Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
-Basic understanding of clerical and administrative procedures.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Excellent organizational and time management skills.
-Ability to solve problems as they arise.
-Must be able to perform each essential duty and follow simple instructions.
-Dependable & self-motivated team player
-Advanced skills using 10key typing.
Required Education and Experience:
-High school diploma or GED and two years’ related experience.
-Experience in the distribution/fulfillment environment is preferred.
-Knowledge of Microsoft Office/Outlook/ Warehouse Management System (WMS)
-Have excellent oral and written communication skills
-Ability to cross train others
-Excellent data entry skills. Ability to pay close attention to detail for typing, filing, sorting and proofing.
-Must be able to be professional at all times and flexible with changing situations.
-Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing
