Join Our Growing Team! We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Account Executive to join our Building Automation and Controls division. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in BAS sales, project management, and client relationship building. If you’re a driven, results-oriented professional with deep industry knowledge, we want to hear from you. What You’ll Be Doing:
- Estimate, bid, and close sales for construction, service, and preventative maintenance (PM) agreements related to Building Automation/Controls.
- Promote and sell open protocol Building Automation Systems, including Johnson Controls, Honeywell, and Carrier.
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing Applied Controls customers to drive ongoing service sales.
- Manage sold projects, working closely with clients, general contractors, engineers, technicians, and subcontractors to ensure timely and cost-efficient completion.
- Attend construction meetings and represent the company with professionalism and integrity.
- Mentor and support other sales engineers and technicians as needed.
- Collaborate with internal sales teams (including Air Comfort Sales Engineers) to identify in-house opportunities and increase revenue.
- Analyze lost projects, identify market trends, and improve future bidding strategies.
- Develop new business through outreach to school districts, hospitals, public entities, engineers, and architects.
- Represent Applied Controls at industry events and association meetings to increase visibility and generate leads.
- Build and maintain a detailed database of existing BAS buildings in the Chicagoland area for marketing and outreach purposes.
- Work alongside customers, architects, and engineers to ensure project satisfaction and long-term relationships.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Building Automation Systems (BAS) sales and account management.
- Demonstrated success in estimating, bidding, and closing BAS projects.
- Strong leadership skills are a plus.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and critical thinking skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated with a drive to exceed goals.
