Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Outside Plant (OSP) Construction Inspector to support fiber optic deployment projects in Pennsylvania, including Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH), Multi-Dwelling Units (MDU), and Fiber-to-the-Business (FTTB) initiatives. You’ll play a critical role in overseeing field operations, enforcing construction standards, and ensuring project deliverables are met with precision, quality, and safety. This role requires daily travel to job sites and consistent interaction with contractors, vendors, and project managers. You will report daily progress via Sitetracker and serve as the eyes and ears on the ground for project stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Construction Oversight & Quality Control
- Monitor construction and testing of fiber optic plant builds to ensure adherence to customer specs, SRPs, and best practices
- Conduct on-site quality inspections using established checklists and reporting tools within Sitetracker
- Address issues in real-time, providing feedback and direction to contractors
- Submit daily reports detailing vendor activity and production progress via Sitetracker (mobile system)
- Maintain up-to-date project documentation and inventory records
- Track material consumption and support inventory control efforts
- Regularly visit job sites to assess construction progress
- Interface with vendors, customers, and internal project managers to resolve concerns or delays
- Support and enforce site safety compliance as per customer and governing standards
- Assist with interpreting project plans and drawings
- Perform other related tasks as assigned to support successful project delivery
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Prior field experience in fiber optic construction, telecommunications, or OSP environments (Preferred)
- Strong knowledge of FTTX prints and technical construction documents
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Must reside within one hour of job sites and be able to travel daily
- Strong technical knowledge of OSP/fiber construction methods
- Excellent written and verbal communication for daily reporting and collaboration
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Experience with Sitetracker or similar mobile field reporting platforms (a plus)
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced, field-based role
- Detail-oriented with problem-solving and time management capabilities
- Strong team player who can also take initiative and work autonomously
- Willingness to work outside of standard business hours, if needed
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
