Description
This position will prepare and submit permit documentation for proposed new outside plant FTTx build-outs. It will involve working as a member of our Fiber Design & Implementation team in coordination with project managers, OSP engineers, state DOTs, and other governing agencies.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Works with various municipalities to obtain permits for easements, ROW, pole attachments, conduits, and other required approvals and/or use agreements.
- Understands and operates within federal, state, and local municipal requirements for telecom construction permitting processes.
- Prepares and submits all permit applications and plans necessary to deliver services under the Scope of Work to the applicable authorities and agencies.
- Secures project authorizations and approvals.
- Provide status reports to senior management and team members to keep them apprised of progress and anticipated issues.
Qualifications
Education:
- HS Diploma or GED required.
Experience:
- Permitting experience with DOTs and other agencies.
- CADD and/or GIS (ArcGIS or QGIS) experience is preferred.
Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be proficient in basic computer programs like Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Highly organized, self-starter, and detail-oriented.
Additional Information
Work Schedule:
- This role will work out of our Charlotte, NC, office.
- Overtime may be required.
