Summary / objective of position:
We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist with a strong background in the professional services (investment/ wealth management space) to join our dynamic team. This role will focus on training and development, employee relations, interviewing, feedback processes, drafting policies, employee engagement, and compliance. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and a thorough understanding of HR best practices in a regulated environment.
Essential functions of position:
- Recruitment/ Interviewing
- Support the recruitment process by reviewing resumes (2nd pass), participating in candidate interviews during the hiring process, 60-day check-in, and 3-month reviews. Obtain quarterly salary data through various sources.
- Training and Development:
- Design, implement, and evaluate training programs to enhance employee skills and performance while making recommendations for improvements as needed.
- Collaborate with department leaders to identify specific training needs, leadership development opportunities and create tailored solutions that are aligned with company goals.
- Create videos of trainings for later viewing (Interview training, Anti-harassment, Safety training/ Active Shooter, Soft Skills Training, etc….
- Employee Relations:
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, facilitating conflict resolution and fostering a positive workplace culture that is consistent with JIC Core Purpose and Values.
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze feedback to improve retention and engagement strategies.
- Feedback and Performance Management:
- Support managers in the performance review process, providing guidance on giving and receiving constructive feedback and goal setting. S.M.A.R.T method.
- Develop and implement programs to promote a culture of continuous feedback and recognition that is consistent with the JIC Leadership principles, as well as utilizing the 1:1 coaching template.
- Policy and Procedure Development
- Draft, revise, and implement handbook policies and procedures that align with organizational goals, foundation, and guiding principles, and that comply with industry regulations. Federal, State, City, etc.…
- Work with compliance team to ensure all policies and practices adhere to legal and compliance standards within the realm of financial services/RIA.
- Recognize areas for overall improvement and create efficient process/procedures utilizing various digital platforms approved by CIO, and CCO,
- Employee Engagement:
- Lead initiatives to enhance employee engagement, including surveys, focus groups, and recognition programs.
- Analyze engagement data and present actionable insights to HR Director.
- Compliance:
- Internally monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Conduct regular audits of HR practices to identify areas for improvement and risk mitigation.
Preferred education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience as an HR Generalist, preferably within the financial sector (banking, investment / wealth management).
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and compliance regulations.
- Proven experience in training and development, employee relations, and drafting of policies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.
- PHR /SHRM-CP Designation preferred.
Supervisory responsibility: N/A
Travel required: Occasional
Work environment: Temperature controlled, office environment.
Physical demands: Must be able to stand or sit at computer for 8 hours per day. May require extensive typing at times.
