What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Foreman position at Jomar Contractors?
We are constantly growing, and as such we have ongoing needs for experienced Commercial Electrical Foreman.
We are IEC members and offer training through the IEC.
On a daily basis the right Foreman will provide frontline, on-site management and coordination for all phases of commercial electrical construction projects, including overseeing craft workers and subcontractors, coordinating material and equipment, verifying specifications are strictly followed and ensuring work is proceeding on schedule and on budget.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities.
- Management and supervision of craft workers and subcontractors performing commercial electrical scopes of work.
- Primary onsite point of contact for general contractor representatives.
- Coordinate timing and performance of electrical scope of work with other trades.
- Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.
- Conduct safety meetings and safety logs maintaining a safe working environment.
- Emphasize the importance of safe work practices and hold crew accountable to company and client safety standards.
- Oversee required inspections with local jurisdictions.
- Coordinate logistics and storage of material and fixture components.
- Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to the project team for resolution.
- Assist in obtaining permits or approval of revisions.
- Compile and submit all reporting requirements such as daily work reports and sign in sheets.
- Walk project daily to monitor activities and assist in future planning.
- Ensure that the job site and job trailer is always kept in a clean and organized manner.
- Provide information and documentation as requested by the project team.
- Make suggestions and recommendations as to the firing, advancement and/or promotion of crew members.
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
Qualification and Education Requirements.
- Education: A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Experience: 3 years of experience performing commercial electrical work; prior Superintendent/Supervisor experience required.
Skills.

- Accepts accountability for crew and delivers results that meet or exceed expectations.
- Working knowledge and understanding of National Electric Code and OSHA standards.
- Certificates: Journeyman/Journeywoman or Masters License; OSHA 30
