Jomboy Media (JM) is seeking an emerging people operations leader to support the Company in creating a positive, engaging, and frictionless employee experience for our team of 50 (and growing!). In this role, you'll ensure a positive experience for the JM team by maintaining the office and supporting the coordination of food and space for office events like our Halftime Show (all-hands meeting). You'll hone your skills in people operations by owning the onboarding and offboarding process, ensuring employee information is up to date across our data sources, and assisting in building meaningful programs and processes across the employee life cycle. You will report to the Director, of Finance with a dotted line to the Fractional Head of People - their role will be to help you build your skills and experience across operations, finance, and human resources. You’ll work closely with leaders across the business to make the employee experience at Jomboy Media the best it can be.
On-Site Expectations
The People Operations and Employee Experience Coordinator is expected to work in the Manhattan office five days a week, with occasional duties at the Jersey City warehouse depending on event needs.
Requirements
- You have 2-4 years of work experience, ideally in human resources or operations
- Baseline understanding of HR principles, policies, and employment laws.
- You have a strong understanding of project management and experience using HR systems like monday.com, HR systems such as applicant tracking systems, or HR information systems - bonus points if you’ve acted as an administrator in the Sequoia PEO platform.
- You have strong problem-solving and analytical skills allowing you to formulate solutions quickly.
- You are entrepreneurial. You don’t do things because that's the way it has always been done.

Responsibilities
As the People Operations and Employee Experience Coordinator you will:
- Act as the first point of contact for employee questions and concerns regarding our office facilities and employee programs
- Oversee the management of the office to ensure everything is running smoothly and that office standards are being maintained. This includes responsibilities like setting up coffee for the day, unloading the dishwasher, clearing the fridge, ordering office snacks, and maintaining conference rooms.
- Support our content and production teams by ensuring that our studios are maintained, and that we have the necessary room set up for events like live streams
- Manage deliveries to the office as well as outgoing mail. You’ll act as the host for any office tours and visitors ensuring that they are made to feel welcome, get to the right meeting room. You may also be called upon to host office tours.
- Maintain and update the office budget related to supplies and equipment purchases, ensuring expenditures are within allocated limits. Complete monthly expense reports
- Maintain an accurate inventory of technology equipment and supplies. Organize and maintain tech supplies.
- Act as a culture carrier who inspires and empowers those around you to work through the JM values. You’ll own the values award program and birthday celebration messages and make efforts to ensure these rituals continue to be meaningful and impactful to the team.
- Lead onboarding and offboarding procedures to ensure a seamless transition in and out of the organization.
- Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of employee programs such as performance reviews, the internship program and more.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in common drive, monday.com, and manage the PTO board and other employee-related data.
- Process employee data changes in Prism/Sequoia, and track benefits eligibility and changes.
- Support the Director of Finance, and Fractional Head of People to complete required compliance reporting for the Company’s PEO, Sequoia.
- Support hiring managers by maintaining job requisitions, screening resumes, communicating with candidates, and hosting interviews
- Maintain the employee resources center updating and curating content as required.
- Continue to optimize people programs, processes, and the employee experience by using tools like monday.com to automate aspects of the employee experience.
Compensation
$50,000 - $65,000, annually. The range below represents the low and high end of the base salary someone in this role may earn. Salary will vary based on various factors including but not limited to professional experience, training, associated responsibilities, and other business and organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees. Salary decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each hire.
