Role Description
Are you a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with a passion for numbers and an interest in the commercial real estate industry? Jones Aur is seeking a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team and help manage our financial operations efficiently.
Responsibilities:
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for various commercial real estate properties, including rent roll, accounts payable and receivable, and property-related expenses.
· Process invoices, rent payments, and vendor payments in a timely manner, ensuring accurate allocation to the appropriate properties and expense categories.
· Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of transactions.
· Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements for management and clients.
· Collaborate with property managers and leasing teams to track and manage tenant leases, rent escalations, and other financial aspects of leasing agreements.
· Handle payroll processing and maintain compliance with tax regulations for employees and contractors.
· Monitor cash flow and prepare regular financial analyses to support decision-making processes.
· Assist with annual audits and tax filings as required.
Requirements:
· Proven work experience as a bookkeeper, preferable in the commercial real estate sector.
· Solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures, with proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders.
· Associate’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
