What are the responsibilities and job description for the Storefront Project Estimator (1) position at Jones Sign?
Position Summary:
Jones Sign is looking for one (1) Storefront Project Estimator, who will assertively work towards a timeline while projecting the costs of the storefront project to bid on.
Successful candidates are responsible for generating and managing estimates required for sales, pre-construction and bidding efforts. This position will identify labor, material and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications and related project documents with a final goal of producing a budget or contract bid for project award. Candidates will have prior estimating experience in the storefront/glazing systems or construction field.
Duties & Expectations:
- Sound business acumen and understanding of what drives company profits.
- Ability to read and comprehend architectural blueprints, drawings and specifications.
- Accurately measure and calculate materials and hardware needed to complete a comprehensive bid.
- Proficient computer skills. Program usage will include but not limited to Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and companies ERP system.
- Effective communication with clients, project managers, and subcontractors to clarify requirements and address concerns.
- Advanced time management and organizational skills with ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Strong focus on accuracy and attention to details.
- Ability to work well independently and/or within a team.
- Strong problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree with coursework in business, construction, manufacturing, logistics and project management; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2 years plus experience in project estimating.
