Position Overview: The Curatorial Intern assists PAMM’s Caribbean Cultural Institute and Curatorial team with research and development of current and upcoming exhibitions, public programs, publications, curatorial presentations, and general CCI and departmental functions. The Curatorial Intern works collaboratively across the department and is an integral part of the curatorial team at PAMM. Duties can include, but are not limited to, compiling information about artists, preparing digital materials and presentations, composing interpretive texts, gathering support materials, assist with web content management and development, and various administrative tasks. This curatorial internship offers an opportunity to conduct research related to artworks and artists featured at PAMM/CCI. The intern may on occasion be asked to work collaboratively on tasks and projects for the Museum’s registration and education departments.
The Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) Curatorial Internship will provide an active training ground for participants to gain new skills and knowledge of arts administration to apply to future employment in museums and cultural institutions. The intern will also have the opportunity to network with PAMM employees and learn about career paths through brown bag lunch meetings.
This is a paid internship opportunity supported by PAMM’s Caribbean Cultural Institute for a total of 240 hours with a flexible schedule of approximately 18h/week. This internship will run from mid-September through mid-December of 2024. The intern must be able to work on-site and remotely. PAMM’s work week is typically M-F 9-5pm with occasional special events outside of normal business hours.
