The Hospitality Supervisor is responsible for the coordination and execution of hospitality and transportation for touring and local artists and their crews who perform at Freeman Arts Pavilion. This position supervises the seasonal hospitality staff and leads the team to create exceptional experiences for artists and their crew.
Anticipated Work Schedule
This position works a flexible schedule from February to September. Hours are event driven, requiring a combination of days, nights, weekends, and holidays. This will include early mornings and late nights depending on the performance.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must be knowledgeable about Freeman Arts Pavilion, its programs, venue policies, and safety plan and be able to communicate information in a courteous manner.
  • Supports Standards for Excellence accreditation, processes, and other nonprofit accreditations that further the expertise and effectiveness of the Joshua M. Freeman Foundation.
  • Execute policies & procedures in accordance with Standards for Excellence accreditation and organizational best practices.
  • Understand and adhere to the policies and information outlined in the Seasonal Employee Handbook.
  • It leads the hospitality advance process to meet budget and experiential goals.
  • Manage purchasing and procurement for all hospitality related items within budget.
  • Manage hospitality staff to include hiring, supervision, training and coaching, scheduling, implementing human resources and company policies and procedures related to staffing.
  • Acts as artist hospitality liaison
  • Manages food and beverage for artists and crew and ensures the backstage area meets the Joshua M. Freeman Foundation service standards and artist needs and the culinary experience exceeds the artist's and touring personnel's expectations.
  • Manages catering partner(s) coordination of menu selection, day of event execution, and payments.
  • Directs the hospitality staff to set up, break down, and secure backstage areas for each performance, including dressing room and bus stock and after-show meal coordination.
  • Organizes local transportation of artists and their crew in company-provided vehicles, maintaining safety and confidentiality.
  • Manage company-provided vehicles including delivery, pick-up, and maintenance, when needed.
  • Manages laundry inventory and related artist needs for each performance.
  • Manages coordination of schedule for cleaning of production trailer and condo, when used by artists.
  • Supports the artist merchandise sales operation by scheduling staff when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 or older.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience working in food service or catering, or in a performing arts venue, preferred.
  • Supervisor experience is required.
  • Must have a good work ethic and the ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Must be responsible and courteous with great communication skills.
  • Must have strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Possess a positive outlook, strong communication skills, and the ability to engage others.
  • Must possess strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated experience finding creative solutions.
  • Must be able to manage the budget and complete monthly financial forecasts.
  • Must be able to safeguard confidential information.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Position requires constant physical activity such as walking, climbing stairs, lifting, and carrying equipment, and supplies.
Requirements
  • Must have a valid US driver's license.
  • Must possess or obtain CPR certification.
  • Must successfully complete all required employment forms.
