What are the responsibilities and job description for the Reading Specialist/Enrichment Teacher - Elementary position at Journey Church?
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Elementary Reading Specialist/Enrichment Teacher to support and enhance literacy development in our K-6 students. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated educator with a heart for Christian education, strong instructional skills, and a commitment to helping students reach their full reading potential. This teacher primarily works one-on-one with students using the Orton-Gillingham approach. Responsibilities also include assessing students' reading abilities and develop individualized intervention plans, collaborate with classroom teachers, monitoring student progress, and communicating with parents. Previous Orton-Gillingham training and/or experience is preferred, however we are willing to provide training.
All CLS teachers must have a minimum of a 4-year Bachelor's degree in their content area or related field; be willing to apply for an ACSI teaching certification within the first year at CLS; personal and professional references and; accepted Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior; and dedication to Christian teaching. State teaching licenses are preferred, but not required.
Christian Life School is located in Kenosha, Wisconsin. We are a Preschool -12th grade school. Our current enrollment is 700 students. We draw families from six counties in Southeastern Wisconsin and Northeastern Illinois. We're one of the largest private schools in Wisconsin.
