This role interacts closely with the Retail Sales team under the direction of the Director of Retail Sales as well as cross-functionally within the company. This position coordinates the management of sales projections, pricing, folding carton artwork, retail budgets, broker commissions, financial analysis, business analysis, as well as other related tasks and responsibilities in support of Joy Baking Group.

JOB SUMMARY
This role interacts closely with the Retail Sales team under the direction of the Director of Retail Sales as well as cross-functionally within the company. This position coordinates the management of sales projections, pricing, folding carton artwork, retail budgets, broker commissions, financial analysis, business analysis, as well as other related tasks and responsibilities in support of Joy Baking Group.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for P&L management across retail channels (branded and private brand)
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop pricing justifications to support pricing actions
- Manage and address P&L for retail sales department
- Analyze and recommend new account/segment pricing
- Prepare annual budget forecasts
- Collaborate with sales team in development and execution of yearly business plan
- Prepare weekly sales report including field sales performance versus quota
- Initiates forecast review process
- Monitor and report the attainment of monthly YTD sales results and MDF/promotional spends
- Manage rack program including inventory and annual projections
- Coordinate scheduling and support trade shows (PLMA)
- Train and develop Sales Coordinators to improve skills and ensure alignment with organizational goals
- Monitor daily activities and workflows to assess and enhance position effectiveness
- Assign incremental tasks to Sales Coordinators to support department objectives and encourage growth
- Complete initial review of customer contracts
- Ensure compliance with company policies and identify any discrepancies or areas needing escalation
- Oversee the sales and development of house accounts i.e. Trader Joe’s
- Analyze and report IRI results
- Utilize available data to drive actionable results
- Oversee new item scan tracking and analysis
- Oversee slotting paybacks and tracking of new item performance
- Manage consumer programs
- Create ad hoc requests for marketing including design concepts, shipper/pallet images, artwork and trademark registration, TV/radio segments
- Manage digital marketing agency and budget
- Review marketing programs and materials such as ads, post and blog content, and potential influencer partners
- Oversee website rework and maintenance
- Manage new product launches
- Must be highly motivated, able to follow directions, and able to perform assigned work duties independently with minimal supervision
- Able to manage multiple projects with timelines
- Able to analyze and present complex information effectively
- Able to problem solve and source solutions across multiple areas of work
- Able to lead a team with a focus on coaching and developing successful sales teams and/or departments
- Must have strong organizational skills and ability to analyze / interpret technical information, mathematical concepts, and form conclusions
- Must have a good understanding of the food industry, market trends, and competitive landscape to influence annual and strategic planning
- Must understand pricing and promotional strategies for Retail Sales
- Able to adapt to changing market conditions and business priorities
- Able to interpret information and forecast with accuracy to provide continual input to the business in planning network operations
- Must be able to travel, visiting customers and vendors, conducting headquarter and plant visits, and attending trade shows
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field – MBA a plus
- Experienced in the use of Power BI, Microsoft Office, AS400
- ERP system experience a plus
- 10 years of retail sales experience and/or front office management in the food industry, with a track record of achieving results and successful team building
- Marketing experience is a plus
