Preconstruction Manager
Job Details :
The Preconstruction Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire preconstruction process, from initial concept through final design and contractor selection. This role ensures projects align with client budgets, phasing requirements, and schedules while guiding them from early design to construction kickoff. The position requires close collaboration with Project Managers, Program Managers, and Clients to maintain the highest level of professionalism and service.
Travel Requirement : Up to 25%
Responsibilities :
- Oversee the accuracy and quality of estimates, drawing reviews, and all construction documents.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, owners, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Maintain up-to-date estimating records, unit prices, and supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with Project Managers in project evaluations.
- Prepare preliminary, schematic, design development, and construction estimates during preconstruction.
- Monitor design development for potential problem areas and cost overruns.
- Lead value engineering efforts to optimize project costs.
- Assist in developing construction schedules during the preconstruction phase.
- Support Business Development and actively participate in industry networking events.
- Lead and facilitate design / preconstruction meetings with owners and design teams .
- Review proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to define project scope.
- Produce, collect, and distribute preconstruction RFIs .
- Work with Project Managers to ensure a smooth transition from pricing to contracts.
- Oversee all preconstruction services , including sales, design, budgeting, and bidding.
- Collaborate with construction teams and stakeholders on special projects and bids.
