Description
Responsible for preparing initial and revised quotes for customers, including tooling requirements, associated costs, and defining a lead time for required tooling. Ensuring accuracy and competitiveness of submitted quotes. Holds a thorough understanding of the company’s products, services, and pricing strategies. This role involves collaboration with other departments to meet customer requirements and support business growth.
* Review and analyze customer requests (production and prototype) for quotes (RFQs) and specifications
* Prepare detailed, accurate, and timely quotations based on customer needs and company standards
* Monitor and follow up on submitted quotes to support the sales team in closing opportunities
* Long-Term Agreement (LTA) tracking, quotation updates and submissions to customers
* Price and lead time negotiation with customers/suppliers
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pricing structures, costs, and market conditions
* Update and manage quoting databases, ERP, and other tools to ensure accuracy and consistency
* Identify opportunities to improve quoting processes for efficiency and customer satisfaction
* Collaborate with JRM teams (sales, engineering, operations, outside sales and purchasing) to gather necessary information for quote preparation
* Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, and industry regulations
* Practice 5S
* Support J-APQP activities
* Travel to other company locations in Ohio, Tennessee & Mexico (as needed); customers and suppliers visits (occasionally)
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in business, finance, or a related field preferred
* Strong analytical, mathematical, and mechanical skills
* Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills
* Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., Excel, CRM systems, quoting tools)
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Experience in a related field, such as estimating, pricing, or sales support, is a plus
