What are the responsibilities and job description for the Press Setter/Operator position at Jtekt North America Corporation?
Stamping Press Setter/Operator
This position is for B Shift (8pm-6am), must be able to train on A Shift (6am-4pm) for 12 -14 weeks.
Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
- Operate a lift and hoist.
- Responsible for assigned presses.
- Set up and /or changeover a press so that it runs quality parts to the specifications shown on the Operation Sheet.
- Pull raw material from storage when necessary. Hang raw material on each type of reel without any safety violations.
- Run raw material through each type of straightener. Start up and shut down each press, reel, and straightener.
- Run parts through press, change full tubs/totes of parts as necessary and stack on pallets.
- Perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) checks including visual and gauging at the appropriate intervals per SPC charts and identify parts that are in or out of specification.
- Empty scrap hoppers. Complete all required paperwork accurately and completely.
- Complete major housekeeping duties at the end of every shift and as needed throughout the shift to keep the work area clean.
- Adhere to company policies and regulations according to safety and environmental issues.
- This is not all inclusive and can change as business conditions change.
Job Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:
- Must be able to pass the mechanical aptitude test given by the Human Resources Department.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma, GED
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- Must be able to pass PIT exam in order to obtain Industrial Lift License.
- Requires lifting up to 40lbs.

Pay: From $24.99 per hour
