Heavy Equipment Operator

JTF Construction, Inc. has an immediate opening for an experienced operator for site development and demo projects. This position will assist with project estimating as well.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. May lead, guide, and train employees performing related work

2. May participate in the recruitment of employees, as appropriate to the area of operation

3. Will perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles/equipment – such as verifying oil level, water level, lubrication, tracks, tires, etc

4. Will operate dozers & graders for leveling

5. Will operate tractors to load materials

6. Will operate forklifts and dump trucks to transport equipment, materials, etc.

7. Will operate excavators for site work, etc

8. Will operate skid steers for site work, etc

9. Will operate equipment trailers as needed

10. Is responsible for proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies – promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices

11. Performs miscellaneous job-related tasks as needed

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

· Experience with underground utilities including domestic and fire waterline installation & repair for commercial projects

· Experience with storm sewer and sanitary sewer installation & repair for commercial projects

· Demolition experience

· Proficient with civil drawings

· The ability to measure and estimate site work

· Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance

· Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to the trade

· Knowledge of basic equipment and vehicle inspection and maintenance

Minimum Job Requirements:

1. 5 years of experience

2. Project estimating experience

Conditions of Employment:

1. Valid driver’s license & transportation

2. CDL is not require but certainly a plus***

Working Conditions:

· Work environment involves some exposure to hazards and physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions

· Work involves exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke and/or loud noises

· Extensive physical activity – requires strenuous physical work, heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects over 50lbs.

Pay: $31.00 - $36.00 per hour
