Job Description: HR Intern at June Jacobs
June Jacobs is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated HR Intern to support our HR department with a variety of administrative and HR-related tasks. Reporting directly to the HR Director, this intern will play a key role in employee data management and other essential HR functions.
This position is fully in-person, with work locations in both Moonachie, NJ, and Midtown, NY. The intern will be expected to work in the office from Monday to Wednesday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The pay rate for this role is $20 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update internal employee databases, transitioning employee records from paper to digital formats.
- Collaborate closely with the HR Director and interact with department managers to manage expectations effectively.
- Assist with personnel administration, including employee information management and new hire paperwork.
- Manage office tasks such as sorting and organizing employee files.
- Enter employee records into the HR Information System, covering areas like new hires, terminations, and absences.
- Respond to HR inquiries and support other Human Resources-related tasks as needed.
- Provide recommendations to improve HR policies and practices.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing or holding a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
- At least one year of experience in an office environment.
- Basic knowledge of labor laws and HR compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information System) software is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
