Juneau Construction Company is seeking a dynamic and collaborative Senior Preconstruction Manager to join our growing team in Miami, FL. Well-qualified candidates will also be responsible for leading geographically dispersed teams on large commercial construction projects throughout the Southeastern United States and working alongside Preconstruction and Operations partners in our Atlanta, GA offices.
General Description:
The Senior Preconstruction Manager assumes the lead role in directing activities necessary to prepare best in class budget proposals and/or bids for current and prospective clients of Juneau Construction Company.
Position Qualifications:
- B.S. in Construction Management, or related engineering discipline
- 8 to 10 years minimum in commercial construction industry
- 5 years minimum in the Preconstruction Segment, with 3 years managing large commercial construction projects ($50 million )
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead role managing $50 million budget proposals and supervising typically 3 person teams to provide comprehensive and complete estimates for projects
- Coordinates with a team and senior management to grow the business in line with the strategic direction of the company
- Preparation of bid calendar and ensures timely completion of estimates
- Mastery level of understanding and implementation of preconstruction standards and procedures
- Collaborate with Operations team members
- Lead design assist/constructability reviews
- Responsible for the completeness and accuracy of submissions.
- Purchasing/preliminary subcontract language (scopes of work)
- Advise operations on preliminary project scheduling
- Primary A/E point of contact during preconstruction
- Marketing to and managing sub/vendor database (global and individual pursuits)
- Lead budget presentations to applicable audiences, including but not limited to internal team members and clients
- Lead role in training, mentoring and developing other associates on the Preconstruction team and within Juneau Construction Company
Software Requirements:
Senior Preconstruction Manger must become proficient in and be capable of training other employees in the use and execution of the following systems:
- Subcontractor database management including solicitation creation and updates
- OnScreen-Takeoff
- Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
- EarthWorksPro
- Subcontractor solicitation and evaluation
- Comparison-of-Bid (COB) reviews
- P6/Primavera
Job Expectations:
- Position may require extended periods of time sitting and/or standing, talking both in person and over technological avenues, lifting up to 20 lbs. as needed
- Position may require travel within the Juneau Construction Company footprint to jobsites and additional office locations for various events and meetings as needed.
- This role is hybrid in nature, with the opportunity to work in a remote capacity up to two days/week as applicable.
