Job Title: Part-Time Weekend Direct Care Staff
Location: Juniper Haven - Residential Treatment Center for Adolescent Girls
Position: Part-Time (Weekend Only)

This is a Great Part-Time Weekend-Only Position!

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Staff to join our team at Juniper Haven, a residential treatment center for adolescent girls. Our center provides a safe and nurturing environment for young girls who have experienced trauma, mental health challenges, and substance abuse. As a Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily needs of our residents, fostering a positive and therapeutic atmosphere, and helping them on their path to healing and recovery.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care and supervision to adolescent girls residing in the treatment center, ensuring their safety, well-being, and adherence to program rules and routines.
  • Foster a supportive and therapeutic environment, promoting positive relationships, trust, and respect among residents and staff.
  • Implement and maintain a structured daily schedule, including meal times, recreational activities, therapeutic groups, and hygiene routines.
  • Assist residents in developing and practicing essential life skills, including personal hygiene, self-care, and daily living activities.
  • Support residents in engaging in therapeutic activities and interventions as directed by the clinical team, such as expressive therapies, skill-building exercises, and recreational outings.
  • Actively participate in crisis management and de-escalation, employing trauma-informed approaches and following established protocols.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure the consistent implementation of individualized treatment plans and provide feedback on residents' progress.
  • Document observations, incidents, and resident interactions accurately and timely, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to documentation protocols.
  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and supervision meetings to enhance professional development and maintain a high standard of care.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, including families, educators, and community professionals, to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach to resident care.
  • Maintain a professional and ethical demeanor at all times, serving as a positive role model for residents and adhering to the center's policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional education in psychology, social work, or a related field is preferred.
  • Must be at least 20 years of age.
  • Previous experience working in a residential treatment center, group home, or similar setting, preferably with adolescent populations, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles, adolescent development, and behavioral management techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents and work collaboratively with a diverse team.
  • Ability to maintain a calm and composed demeanor in high-stress situations and effectively manage crisis situations using de-escalation techniques.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to utilize electronic documentation systems effectively.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as per the center's needs.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
  • Ability to pass background checks and clearance requirements as mandated by local regulations.
