WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a driven and customer-focused Retail Sales Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring motivational leadership, excellent organizational abilities, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service. In this role, you will primarily oversee the retail sales floor and lead a small team of full-time sales associates, under the direction of the Retail General Manager. Success in this position also requires a hands-on approach and a flexible mindset. The Retail Sales Manager will be expected to support warehouse operations and order fulfillment as needed, adjusting priorities and reallocating resources in response to changing business demands. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership
- Lead by example, consistently demonstrating professionalism and integrity to inspire high performance across the team.
- Effectively implement company strategies by delegating tasks and allocating resources in alignment with business objectives.
- Provide real-time coaching and mentorship to sales team members to enhance their skills, confidence, and product knowledge.
Customer Service
- Foster a customer-first culture, ensuring a consistently positive and engaging in-store experience.
- Utilize strong interpersonal and communication skills to address customer inquiries, feedback, and concerns across various channels.
- Serve as the primary point of escalation for complex customer service matters and transactional issues.
Sales and Operations
- Partner with the Retail General Manager to execute and assign sales and operational responsibilities based on evolving business needs.
- Lead daily sales floor activities through hands-on involvement and exceptional customer engagement.
- Develop and manage staff scheduling to ensure coverage, operational efficiency, and responsiveness to customer traffic patterns.
- Oversee store merchandising strategy, including planning, task management, and team delegation.
- Take ownership of in-store technology, including inventory and support of iPhones, handheld devices, POS systems, and escalation of technical issues.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming retail environment.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 2 years managing a team in retail or other customer facing environment.
- High school diploma required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Prior wine and spirits industry experience highly preferred.
- Skillful leader and mentor adept in problem solving, conflict resolution, training, and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Strong time management and organizational skills, including timely and professional email correspondence with customers and colleagues.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, including Office 365, as well as proficiency with POS and proprietary app (TCB).
- Must be able to work at least one weekend day per week; flexibility to regularly work early or late, and on varied days throughout a given month.
