Kadant Inc. is seeking a results-driven and hands-on colleague to join our technical team as a Junior Business Analyst based out of our Three Rivers, Michigan facility. This role reports to the Business and Operational Excellence Manager.
The Junior Business Analyst is responsible for for documenting the use case and workflow needs of the business and confirming those with appropriate business stakeholders. They will also will specialize in gathering and maintaining requirements for our portfolio of projects, assist with functional and technical design, test and evaluate new and existing technologies during concept validations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Coordinate with different department teams to produce better business outcomes
• Test business processes and recommend improvements
• Support and provide backup to other members of the Information Systems Department
• Assist on the design of a functional solution to a business requirements and/or problems
• Translate business requirement documents to a functional specifications
• Help development team on preparing the system configuration, master data setup and test data for testing of new features and bug fixes
• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements
• Contribute to meetings, prioritize issues, resolve conflicts, manage project plan and communicate with all levels of the organization
• Pro-active, and flexible with a positive can-do attitude in a fast-paced business environment
• Eagerness to learn new things and develop skills
Requirements & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Business
• If no experience as a Business Anayst/Product owner, training and internship programs will be required and provided by Kadant. This includes our ERP system
• Experience with all phases of testing (i.e., system, integration, user acceptance), including creating use cases, test conditions, and review of output
• Must be able to adjust and work effectively in a dynamic, changing environment

The Junior Business Analyst will also have the ability to plan and manage several projects at once and plan, create, and perform technical training sessions. He/She must possess strong critical thinking skills as well as be able to apply logic to diverse situations. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills is essential to the success of this position.
