Job Description: High School Next Prep Teacher
Location: St. Louis, MO, 63118
Summary:
We are seeking someone passionate about empowering high school students to pursue a postsecondary pathway that aligns to their purpose who also has an entrepreneurial, innovative mindset and spirit. You will teach Next Prep to all Kairos Academies High School (KAHS) students. You will be expected to implement the provided curriculum with 100% fidelity, communicating any concerns in pacing and/or subject matter to the School Principal as they arise. In addition to teaching the course, you will be responsible for assessing student progress, meeting weekly with the Next Prep Director, participating in grade-level team meetings, and maintaining family communication.

In-person role at Kairos Academies (St. Louis, MO 63118). Monday – Friday: 7:30 am – 5:00 pm (School Leaders select times for teachers between this window). Participation in select evening/weekend school-community events is expected.

- Use Next Prep curriculum with fidelity
- Coordinate with Next Prep Program Director and school leadership around field trips, simulations, and capstone presentations/events for High School students
- Maintain updated student data/grades
- Communicate with families around student progress
- Use KAHS behavioral and attendance systems
- Attend KAHS grade-level team meetings
- Meet weekly with the Next Prep Program Director
- 85% of students score on/above grade level proficiency on the MO MAP
- 70% NWEA (Growth)

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, instructional technology, and data management platforms
- Regular use of a computer-based student Information Management system
- Skillful use of digital curriculum resources to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes
- Know, teach, and reinforce our safety policies and procedures
- Proactively recognize and report unsafe actions or environments
- Respond swiftly and appropriately to emergencies to maintain a safe school climate
- Ability to occasionally exert 20-50 pounds, frequently exert 10-25 pounds
- Comfortable using instructional technology extensively throughout the day
- Mobility and stamina to supervise, instruct, and support students actively

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- Valid Missouri Substitute Certification (required)
- Valid Missouri Teacher Certification is strongly preferred or willing to obtain promptly
- A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience is preferred
- Successful completion of criminal records check annually
- Eligible to work in the United States
