Position Summary :
The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for all day-to-day human resource related duties including benefits administration, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment / employment, and employment law compliance.
Administers, communicates, and maintains human resource policies and procedures.Organize employee benefit programs, including renewal, vendor relations and plan compliance.Administers employee health and wellness benefits to include claims resolution, change reporting, approval, and processing invoices for payment, communicating changes to employees and coordinating open enrollment meetings.Coordinate recruitment efforts for all positions.Owns the new hire process including coordinating :Pre-boarding activities (launching onboarding module in Paylocity, schedule orientations, required training and check-ins, IT set up and DCFS access).
In collaboration with the Office / IT Manager, conduct first day orientation. Also schedule and facilitate Part Two of the new hire orientation.Maintain and prepare HR related reports, including salary listings, statistical reports, Equal Employment Opportunity, and turnover.Supports audits of personnel, independent contractor, benefit, and training files to ensure compliance with agency standards, licensing requirements, and state, federal and local laws.Ensures compliance with all personnel related DCFS licensing requirements, such as physical examinations, TB testing, automobile insurance and driver's license renewals.Administers employee termination process, including paperwork, offboarding procedures and exit interviews.Coordinates all agency trainings as assigned.Ensures that employee benefit and other payroll-related information is accurate in advance of each payroll run in coordination with Finance department.Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resource and payroll functions.Promotes an inclusive work environment, aligned with the organization's core principles and values.Co-chair's the Staff Culture Committee with the goal of promoting a positive agency culture.Demonstrates working knowledge of HR and Independent Contractors related COA standards.Completes other duties as assigned by the Director of HR and Operations.All EmployeesSupports the agency's mission, vision and values.

Bachelor's degree in human resources or 4 years of successful experience in HR.Experience and Certification :
Minimum 3 years of successful experience in an HR role
Minimum 2 years of experience in a non-profit setting
Minimum 2 years of experience providing high level customer services
Knowledge & Skills :
