Metal Fabrication Production Associate

Are you interested in metal product manufacturing using the latest cutting, bending and welding technology? If so, Kalow Technologies is looking for individuals to join our metal fabrication team in our Rutland, VT facility.

As a Metal Fabrication Production Associate, you will be part of a dynamic team that produces a wide range of precision metal parts and fabrications for Kalow’s internal production needs and other outside customers. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, a variety of primary and secondary metal cutting (lasers / punches) and forming operations (press brakes). The job is ideally suited to someone with prior manufacturing experience, a strong attention to detail, and an interest in metal products manufacturing.

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities

  • Have the ability to follow and adhere to defined work instructions, processes, and procedures where repeatable, high-quality results are required.
  • Have a familiarity with or willingness to learn how to read and understand part prints.
  • Operate and use a variety of machines, hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and test equipment, to produce precision metal products.
  • Perform value-added operations, such as bending, deburring, PEM installation, cleaning, and packaging.
  • Perform regular in process inspection of parts to ensure the parts being produced meet the print requirements.
  • Clean, maintain, and keep organized equipment, tooling, and fixtures being used.
  • Confer with Fabrication Department managers and other production personnel to ensure a smooth flow of products and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Have a positive attitude and be team oriented.

Job Requirements

Education

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.

Experience and Certifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2 years of metal fabrication or other metal product manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Experience with press brakes, lasers, punches, or other metal forming equipment would be beneficial.
  • Candidates can be entry-level as long as they can follow instructions; have a willingness to learn, and perform job operations timely sequential manner.
  • Must be comfortable using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Self-directed and capable of prioritizing opportunities and performing multiple tasks.
  • High energy and positive attitude with a willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and help to get things done as required.
  • Ability to lift 15-20 lbs. repeatedly with occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
