A leader in smart lighting and building automation is seeking a Software Engineer to design and develop manufacturing test equipment that ensures the quality and reliability of our consumer products. This full-time position is based in Allentown, PA / Lehigh Valley and offers a competitive salary with sponsorship and relocation available for qualified candidates.
About the Role:
As a Software Engineer for Manufacturing Test Equipment, you will play a critical role in developing innovative and intuitive manufacturing testing solutions. Working within a cross-functional team, you will contribute to the conceptualization, design, and implementation of high-performance systems that directly impact operations and product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers to define tester requirements.
· Design and implement custom software solutions for manufacturing test systems.
· Develop and execute verification and validation strategies to ensure system performance.
· Deploy, manage, and maintain software components within manufacturing environments.
· Work with technologies including C/C /C#/.NET, SQL, Python, and distributed cloud services.
· Interface with instrumentation and measurement devices, such as signal generators and meters.
· Apply multithreading, parallelization, security, and scalable software design principles.
· Participate in Agile development processes, including feature estimation, prioritization, and demos.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Robotics.
· 5 years of experience in software development, preferably in manufacturing test equipment.
· Strong background in object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithm design.
· Willingness to travel up to 5% internationally for troubleshooting and support.
· Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, BitBucket, Confluence) is a plus.
· Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including SAFe.
