Manager, Continuous Improvement
Manager, Continuous Improvement will drive a continuous improvement culture based on lean enterprise excellence principles resulting in products and services that enable our healthcare partners to improve patients’ lives around the world. The ideal candidate will have experience and quantifiable success serving as a lean transformation leader in operations and back-office processes. The position requires a leader capable of facilitating and driving change while effectively leveraging their strong interpersonal skills. Key to success in this position is the experience and ability to work within the organization at all levels and within all functions, creating value and buy-in within the business.
Responsibilities
- Drive a Continuous Improvement culture for the entire enterprise that creates a team-based approach to waste elimination at every level of the organization.
- Lead or facilitate strategic, high impact process improvement projects utilizing Continuous Improvement principles, systems, and tools to drive meaningful business improvement.
- Train, coach, and mentor individuals and cross-functional team members in continuous improvement principles, systems, tools, and methodologies.
- Partner with Value Stream Teams to implement, maintain, and improve systems to meet customer and business needs.
- Present Continuous Improvement project progress to organization and leadership
- Assist leadership in Continuous Improvement project selection, project resourcing, and metric development.
- Review and improve the Continuous Improvement systems.
- Contribute to KARL STORZ cost reduction project portfolio.
Professional Experience/Minimum Qualifications/Education
Must be a self- starter, capable of working independently with minimal supervision, comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing and changing environment, and has successfully managed technical teams.
- Bachelors’ degree in Engineering, Business, or technical discipline.
- Minimum of Green Belt certification, Black Belt preferred.
- 5 years of demonstrated success applying continuous improvement methodologies with quantifiable and sustained results.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment, advanced machining and/or injection molding preferred.
- Best in class continuous improvement experience or training in Toyota Production System, Shingo Model, Shingijutsu, Kaizen, and/or Lean Six Sigma preferred.
- Successful Continuous Improvement project experience required.
- Led at least one large scale Lean Transformation across functions at the enterprise level.
- Experience with MS Office Suite to effectively conduct analytics and present/communicate project status, and experience with Minitab preferred
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to interface at all organizational levels.
- Ability to apply and improve Continuous Improvement principles and systems throughout the organization and coach/mentor others in their use.
- The position requires a proven leader who can create a culture of accountability in a team driven environment.
- Leadership style must be conducive to positively change behaviors through effective coaching and ultimately deliver exceptional results.
Travel
Periodic travel between our Charlton Massachusetts and Franklin Massachusetts facility.
