What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry-Level Composites Technician - Swing Shift position at Karman Space & Defense?
SUMMARY:
The Composites Technician I is responsible for the hand layup and filament winding of advanced composite materials on designated tooling per specific work instructions, and/or customer specifications. Tasks included in this position are tooling fabrication, tool prep for lay-up, hand lay-up of pre-preg composite material using a variety of techniques and processes, vacuum bagging, precision trimming and layup techniques.
We are currently offering a $500 signing bonus for this position!
SWING SHIFT: Monday-Thursday 1pm-11pm

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- >1 year experience in a technical field and/or construction, electrical, plumbing, facility maintenance
- Builds composite parts using appropriate hand layup techniques and use chemicals, adhesives, and solvents as required
- Ability to visually inspect for FOD prior to bagging parts for room temperature, oven, and autoclave
- Ability to read precision measuring tools and instruments, and understand blueprints and drawings.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Required Education: High School diploma
- Required Experience: Experience with basic hand and power tools
- Preferred Experience: >1 year experience in a technical field and/or construction, electrical, plumbing, facility maintenance
- Physical requirements of this position include moderate physical and repetitious work, standing for extended periods of time, the use of stairs and occasional heavy lifting
