Title:
Configuration Management SpecialistKBR is seeking a Configuration Management Specialist to support government customers in the Washington Metropolitan Area. The Configuration Management (CM) Specialist manages the processes that baseline, and maintain test and technical artifacts, work instructions and procedures, and templates in support of the customer’s missions and workflows. The CM function serves as the team’s representative regarding Change Requests (CRQ), and regarding Discrepancy Reports (DR) submitted from test events. This function also compiles, tracks, updates and disseminates artifacts in support of the customer mission to include the master schedule, DR and CRQ status in the discrepancy report database (Remedy or similar), and reports and details related to RFSs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide configuration management (CM) services to include action item tracking, software gold copy, test data, and software licensing processes.
- Represent customer for CM related activities at briefings and meetings.
- Assist defining new workflow processes as required; provide recommendations for workflow tool enhancements.
- Provide administrative support to business process/workflow tools and maintain artifacts as they relate to the RFS or topic process.
- Maintain CM baseline templates for customer deliverables
- Develop, implement and maintain a documentation change process
- Maintain CM baseline versions of customer related procedures, instructions and forms
- Support incremental updates to CM baselined documentation occurring quarterly and annually
- Create, monitor, and report on schedules for standard operating procedure (SOP) updates. Facilitate planning meetings such as the Resource Allocation meeting (RAM), Technical Review, and Internal Test Readiness Reviews (ITRR).
- Prepare and distribute weekly RAM agendas, updates, and closures of RFSs
- Prepare and distribute weekly RAM status results and update in workflow tools
- Schedule conference calls to support meetings, send emails to appropriate parties with agenda and meeting reminders, provide visual aids to participants, capture checklist and action items during the meetings, send completed checklists to the appropriate parties for review after the meeting, and post status to customer workflow tools and customer website.
- Compile and disseminate RFS reports and information depicting available resources, along with a four week look ahead, quarter reporting, and a fiscal year report. Create, maintain, and disseminate weekly, monthly, and quarterly schedules; update and maintain the master schedule for test activities.
- Utilize workflow tools, the RAM, and other planning meetings to create and maintain the mission schedules.
- Update with new or modified RFS and “topic” data, update with actual dates after test start and end.
- Create, maintain, and disseminate custom schedules as requested customer.
- Maintain overall process knowledge of workflow tool policies and procedures to include RFSs, document library, action item tools, RAM. Provide user desk-side training, as required, on business process and workflow tools. Coordinate and support Brownbag training sessions for automated tools and DevOps pipeline developments.
- Work with DevOps teams to schedule and host brownbags
- Process and track all Change Requests (CRQ), providing status on open, pending, and closed actions. Provide problem/incident management support to include recording, monitoring, and reporting on all discrepancy reports (DR), Technical investigations (TI), baseline changes (BLC), and workarounds encountered during testing.
- Collect the DR, TI, and BLC information from the user/tester, and ensure that the report accurately captures the information in sufficient detail.
- Represent customer at Engineering Review Boards (ERB), providing and documenting status and updates on customer opened DRs.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
Bachelors’ or Masters’ degree, with a major relevant to skills requirements (Computer Science, Database Management, Information Technology, other)
5 years of relevant experience
Working knowledge and familiarity with mature configuration management practices and procedures
IBM® Rational® Solution for Lifecycle Management (CLM) Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System Next Generation (DNG), Rational Team Concert (RTC), Rational® Requirements Composer (RRC), and the Requirements Management (RQM)
Knowledge of Atlassian (Jira, Confluence)
Adobe Dreamweaver
Experience using Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and Word
Previous work within a government Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF)
Proven ability to derive and mark classified documents according to the National Industrial Security Program (NISPOM) and AFTAC Security Classification Guides
Strong interpersonal and communication skills necessary to communicate with customers
Security Clearance Requirements: Active TS/SCI (with poly preferred)
