Financial Analyst - Strategic Finance

The Finance team at a publicly traded SaaS company in Boston, MA is seeking a Financial Analyst (Strategic Finance & FP&A) to join our rapidly expanding company. In this Financial Analyst role, you'll support our leadership by delivering forecasts, analyzing trends, and providing critical insights to guide strategic decisions. We’re looking for a detail-oriented professional with a passion for data analysis who can uncover key business drivers and effectively communicate insights from financial data. This Financial Analyst role requires a proactive mindset, strong business understanding, and the ability to succeed in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and present weekly forecasts and reporting packages for senior leadership based on actual performance, trends, hiring plans, and strategic projects
• Conduct monthly and quarterly variance analysis, comparing actual results with plans, collaborating with business partners to understand core drivers
• Work with business and finance leaders to facilitate annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting through financial modeling, analysis, and decision-making support
• Oversee month-end close activities by partnering with accounting to track forecast variances and ensure accurate financial reporting
• Perform ad-hoc analyses that contribute to strategic decision-making and operational improvements
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related business field
• 1 years of experience in FP&A, consulting, investment banking, or a related field
• Strong business insight with an understanding of essential business drivers
• Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills and familiarity with core accounting principles
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Motivated self-starter eager to learn and develop within a team setting
• Effective communicator able to collaborate with colleagues across departments and organizational levels
• Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of SQL/Snowflake and Tableau is a plus
