The Director of Intermodal Transportation is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of intermodal operations, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This role requires a strategic leader with expertise in intermodal logistics, transportation planning, and carrier partnerships. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance intermodal transportation services.
Oversee daily intermodal operations, ensuring efficiency, cost control, and service quality.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with railroads, drayage providers, and key stakeholders.
Identify and implement process improvements to drive operational excellence and reduce costs.
Collaborate with sales and operations teams to align intermodal solutions with client needs.
Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and maintain a competitive edge.
Manage and mentor a team of intermodal logistics professionals, fostering growth and accountability.
Develop and track KPIs to assess performance, identify opportunities, and drive continuous improvement.
Work closely with procurement teams to negotiate contracts and optimize carrier partnerships.
Lead initiatives to enhance technology adoption and digital transformation within intermodal operations

Proven ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives.
