Job Summary
The primary purpose of the Student Success Coach is to support students who have unique challenges mitigating their academic success. The Student Success Coach will identify barriers to academic success and assist students in creating and applying action plans for overcoming challenges. The Student Success Coach will help students maximize their potential by supporting and assisting students in gaining effective strategies and behaviors that can support and enhance their academic lives.
Job Duties:
- Utilize Starfish to schedule coaching appointments and record session outcomes
- Monitor Starfish Referrals according to communication plan
- Develop Success Plan and record in Starfish for each student
- Create tasks for students to accomplish to complete Success Plan
- Recommend additional Success Plan task items to Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) Director on an ongoing basis
- Initiate contact with each student engaged in coaching at least three times a semester
- Communicate each semester with students enrolled in gateway Math and English courses to encourage use of coaching services and develop Success Plan
- Work with the QEP Director to review data, complete analysis, develop improvement plan, and identify annual targets for Goals and Student Success Outcomes
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree (Education with focus on counseling or student affairs, or related field), and one year related experience, or equivalent.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to plan, organize and implement day-to-day operations/duties
- Excellent computer skills
