Under general direction, perform a wide variety of complex level administrative duties for a division, department head or group of employees; assist in keeping department financial, personnel and operational records; manage rentals for various indoor facilities and shelters; performs detailed work in a fast-paced, open environment, while maintaining quality customer service. Work varies, interpretive judgment is required within generally prescribed standards and procedures; has significant opportunity for discretion and independent action.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Perform administrative support functions requiring independent judgment and a high level of confidentiality while using tact, discretion and diplomacy; perform reception duties to make visitors feel welcome; answer and direct telephone calls; respond to email inquiries; perform tennis center reception duties including court reservations, program registration, and pro shop sales;provide administrative support to the Department; update and maintain current registration program for online and manual registration and membership purchases; register participants in recreational and athletic programs; facilitate and schedule facility rentals; maintain records and data of facility rentals; assist recreation, golf, and senior services divisions with mailings, emails, class rosters, reminders and various forms of event communications and preparation as needed; type, prepare, compile and maintain a variety of confidential and complex departmental records including personnel information, reports, correspondence, letters, memos, agendas, minutes, press releases, newsletters, policies, purchase orders, marketing material, and other documents; compose draft correspondence independently, proofread and prepare the final copy; proof, approve, adjust, prepare and maintain assigned departmental timesheets and payroll records; perform computer input and retrieval functions utilizing a variety of hardware and software programs; prepare and distribute appropriate meeting materials; provide administrative support services of a highly skilled and confidential nature; may fill in for another similar or less-skilled employee.
