Position Overview
Hiring Hub is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with a strong background in financial and human resource systems, particularly New Mexico SHARE. The CFO will play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy, overseeing financial operations, and driving growth in alignment with the organization’s objectives. This executive will work closely with the CEO, leadership team, and stakeholders to ensure the financial health and sustainability of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Planning and Leadership
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the organization’s short- and long-term goals.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to guide strategic decision-making.
- Lead the financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting processes.
Operational Financial Management
Oversee all financial functions, including accounting, treasury, risk management, and compliance.Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in adherence to regulatory standards.Monitor cash flow, manage debt, and optimize the organization’s capital structure.New Mexico SHARE Expertise
Utilize in-depth knowledge of the New Mexico SHARE system to manage financial and human resource operations effectively.Ensure the efficient use of SHARE for financial reporting, payroll, and resource planning.Provide guidance and training on SHARE functionality to staff as needed.Leadership and Team Development
Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering professional growth and development.Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and collaboration across departments.Act as a key advisor to the executive team on financial and operational matters.Risk Management and Compliance
Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and tax requirements.Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard organizational assets.Oversee insurance programs and manage relationships with external auditors and financial institutions.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.Minimum 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including significant experience in public sector finance or nonprofit organizations.Extensive experience with the New Mexico SHARE financial and HR system.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.Proven experience in risk management, capital allocation, and operational efficiency.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.Proficiency in financial software and systems relevant to the public and nonprofit sectors.Preferred Skills and Attributes
