The Office of Family Representation and Advocacy provides high quality legal representation and advocacy for New Mexico families in the child abuse and neglect system.

Why does the job exist?
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for managing a budget for a small agency. The position will be managing financial staff upon the creation of the positions.
How does it get done?
The CFO will be required to perform the following duties :
- Manage the financial operations of the agency;
- Prepare the annual budget;
- Manage the annual audit;
- Oversee all procurement processes including managing contracts.
Who are the customers?
Office of Family Representation and Advocacy (OFRA) staff, and constituents of New Mexico.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has the following experience :
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Auditing and five (5) years of experience in Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, or Auditing; to include one (1) year of experience with PeopleSoft : Oracle Financials or similar software system; and to include (2) years of managerial or supervisory experience. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and / or direct experience in this occupation totaling nine (9) years may substitute for the required education and experience. A hiring agency may designate a portion of the required experience to include federal grant and / or special revenue experience to be identified at the time of recruitment.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual / Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Possible exposure to irate clientele. Some statewide travel may be required. Incumbent will work under stress and frequent time constraints. Must have own mode of transportation for work-related travel.
