Summary Of Position
Keene State College invites applications for an Assistant Director, Upward Bound to work directly with the Director of TRIO Programs to plan and implement federal project recruitment, services, evaluation, and reporting, and lead a staff team dedicated to student success. This is a full-time, grant-funded position contingent upon grant funding.
Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math-Science are year-round college preparatory programs. The programs: prepare students for success in high school and enrollment in college, are funded by the U.S. Department of Education TRIO Division; are free of charge to students who meet eligibility criteria including being low-income and first-generation college; and serve students enrolled in identified target high schools. Other Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in education, counseling or related field and two years of experience including teaching, counseling, or administration, or bachelor’s degree plus four years of experience;
- 1 year of supervisory experience.
- Strong commitment to the needs of disadvantaged students;
- Proven ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written means.
- Proven interpersonal, organizational, and supervisory skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and school personnel.
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Word,Excel, database systems, and Google Suite.
- Available extended hours in the summer, and regular nights and weekends during the academic year.
- Minimum of two years of experience including TRIO or EOP program management, teaching, or counseling.
- Previous experience as a participant or staff member of a TRIO program.
