We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Human Resources Generalist to join our team. This role is integral to supporting various HR functions, including payroll processing (with special consideration given to candidates with payor experience), recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, compliance, and document management, among other responsibilities. As an HR Generalist, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth and efficient HR operations, contributing to the overall effectiveness of our team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to expand your knowledge and expertise within the HR field. We are looking for a highly organized individual with strong communication skills, the ability to maintain confidentiality, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
What You Will Do:
- Payroll Administration: Accurately process and run payroll on time, with special consideration given to candidates with payor experience. Responsibilities include entering and maintaining employee compensation data, such as hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses, time worked, paid leave, deductions, and other related information.
- New Hire Onboarding: Oversee the new hire onboarding process, including coordinating with various departments to schedule and prepare for orientation sessions, managing necessary documentation, and delivering orientation presentations to ensure a smooth and welcoming transition for new employees. Support the onboarding process by managing offer letters, background checks, and required documentation.
- HR Administration & Compliance: Provide daily support to HR administration by ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures. Ensure that all required documentation, including I-9 verifications, employment verifications, background checks, and other new hire paperwork, is completed accurately and promptly.
- Employee Experience Programs: Assist in the development and implementation of employee experience programs, including creating event calendars, organizing milestone celebrations, and supporting employee recognition initiatives.
- HR Policy & Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Regularly review and update HR policies to ensure compliance with legal requirements and industry best practices.
- Talent Management & Performance: Support various talent management functions, including performance management, employee recognition, and disciplinary processes. Assist in recruitment by posting job advertisements,
- screening resumes, coordinating interviews, and tracking candidates through the hiring process, from initial contact to onboarding and start date.
- Regulatory Knowledge & Training: Stay current on trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law to help ensure the organization remains compliant and competitive.
- Employee Data Management: Accurately and efficiently input and maintain employee data in the HR system, ensuring that all records are up to date, complete, and in compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
Skills Needed to be Successful:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- SPHR or SHRM-SCP/CP certification highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience, preferably as an HR Coordinator.
- PHR or SHRM certification is strongly desired.
- Previous experience with payroll systems and HRIS (Human Resources Information System) is required.
- Experience with onboarding, benefits administration, and recruiting is highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws and HR best practices.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to address and resolve employee inquiries or issues efficiently and professionally.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with employees, management, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A friendly and approachable demeanor to help employees navigate HR processes smoothly.
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR-related software.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
