Winpak Films Inc. is seeking a Human Resource Generalist to join their team based out of Senoia, Georgia.

The Human Resources Generalist at Winpak Films Inc. is a pivotal role that plays a crucial part in fostering a positive and high performing work environment. This position will work closely with our HR Business Partner (HRBP) and leadership teams across the organization to ensure the consistent application of policies and procedures, supporting both employees and management. The HR Generalist will contribute to building strong HR systems and processes that streamline operations, enhance employee engagement, and maintain compliance with legal and organizational standards. This is a key position that ensures the smooth functioning of HR initiatives while helping to drive the success and growth of the company.


Key Responsibilities:

Employee Engagement and Management Support

  • Prioritize employee engagement by implementing initiatives that promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Partner with managers and supervisors to enhance their ability to support and manage employees effectively, fostering exceptional performance and development.
  • Guide onboarding: Provide comprehensive support to new hires by ensuring they have the resources needed to succeed.
  • Act as a resource: Serve as a trusted advisor for employees and managers, resolving issues promptly and providing clear guidance on HR policies, practices, and processes.
  • Collaborate with managers to identify and implement opportunities for employee recognition, development, and retention.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Collaborate with the payroll/benefits teams to ensure timely processing of all employee compensation updates.
  • Advise employees on progression, referral, retention bonuses, and other incentives, ensuring timely and accurate compensation.
  • Support employees by guiding them through benefit offerings (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K) and resolving any questions or issues related to benefits enrollment, claims, or changes.
  • Assist the HR Business Partner (HRBP) and Wellness leader in managing open enrollment, new hire benefit enrollments, and addressing ongoing benefit-related concerns.

HRIS Management

  • Provide guidance to employees and managers on the effective use of the HRIS system (UltiPro WinConnect) for onboarding, termination, and other system-related queries.
  • Partner with supervisors to review attendance records and provide recommendations on necessary disciplinary actions, ensuring alignment with organizational policies.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain employee records: Ensure records (including employment agreements, disciplinary records, personal information, and payroll data) are accurate, updated, and managed in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Support reporting and headcount management: Partner with the HRBP and HR Coordinator to track and report start/termination dates for temporary employees, ensuring accurate headcount reporting.
  • Coordinate uniform distribution and maintenance: Ensure employees receive appropriate uniforms promptly, working closely with the vendor to address replacements or issues.
  • Build collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders by providing HR consultative services that align with business goals, workforce planning, and change initiatives.
  • Support disability management: Partner with service providers to ensure efficient return-to-work programs that balance employee well-being with organizational needs.
  • Prepare proposals and applications for government-funded employment programs and administer government payment claims, liaising with officials as necessary.
  • Investigate complex employee relations issues: Prepare thorough documentation, including action plans and recommendations.
  • Promote teamwork, cooperation, and effective communication across the organization.

Compliance and Initiatives

  • Engage with all levels of operations to support Winpak’s TQI program and initiatives.
  • Perform duties and responsibilities in compliance with ISO 9001 and SQF 2000 standards.
  • Lead or assist in special projects within the Human Resources department as needed.
  • Maintain private information in accordance with the Privacy Act.
  • Participate in various organizational initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
  • Perform backup duties to support the human resources team when required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A relevant HR certification (e.g., CHRP, SHRM-CP) is an asset.
  • Proven experience advising managers and leaders on HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and alignment with company standards.
  • Experience providing guidance on sensitive employee situations, ensuring consistent application of policies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to advise and guide employees and management in a professional and approachable manner.
  • Strong knowledge and experience advising employees on benefit offerings (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K) and providing clear explanations of policies and procedures.
  • Experience providing guidance on employee relations matters, resolving conflicts, and promoting a positive and compliant workplace.
  • Experience partnering with managers on performance management, including goal setting, coaching, feedback, and addressing performance issues.
  • Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including HRBP, Talent Acquisition, and other departments, to support organizational goals and initiatives.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems (e.g., UltiPro) ability to leverage technology to streamline HR processes and improve efficiency.
  • Administrative skills with attention to detail in maintaining employee records and ensuring data integrity.
