Position Summary
This multifaceted role supports the Athletics Department through detailed documentation management and assisting administrators with student-athlete progress and recognition.
Serving as the primary point of contact, this role ensures seamless communication with visitors, student-athletes, coaches, and other personnel while providing exceptional customer service. Administrative duties include answering calls, sorting mail, managing office supplies, filing, and handling email correspondence.
In addition, responsibilities include preparing check requests, payroll forms, and other documentation, as well as tracking and monitoring expenses and departmental budgets. This role also handles account receivables and contributes to department-wide projects such as fundraising, alumni relations, and athletic events requiring administrative support.
By delivering essential administrative and operational support, this position plays a critical role in the successful execution of department and college strategies and objectives.
This part-time role, reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director, is assigned at Kellogg Community College’s Miller Gym located on the North Avenue campus in Battle Creek, Michigan.

Physical Demands
The job responsibilities are performed in an office area and presentation venues. Travel by car required. The job has intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as independent mobility between work areas, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward (8 – 45 pounds). Typically requires regular use of one or more physical senses of medium intensity and long duration. Must meet reasonable deadlines, quotas or demands for accuracy, and may be involved in some mildly unpleasant situations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Some post-secondary education AND one (1) year of relevant experience OR two (2) years of relevant experience. At the time of application, attach unofficial transcripts showing successfully completed coursework, if applicable.
- Ability to work with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook or similar level applications at an intermediate level.
- Ability to multi-task with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred but not Required
- Associate degree or successful completion of equivalent post-secondary credits from an accredited college/university.
- Experience working in an athletic setting.
- Ability to arrange meetings and coordinate facility events.
Proposed Salary
According to the published support staff salary schedule, Classification Pay Grade 12, 2024-2025 hourly wage range, step one $18.09 to step six $23.92. Internal applicants may refer to Article 22, Section 5C.

Description
- Process, update, and maintain documentation related to:
- athlete eligibility,
- athlete scholarships,
- team rosters,
- season schedules,
- home game contracts, and
- officials’ pay.
- Assist Athletics administrators with athlete academic progress reports.
- Order, maintain, and archive the athletic awards and recognition of teams and student athletes.
