Full time opportunity as a Project Manager with a leader in the industrial shelving systems industry
Location: San Dimas, CA
6 month contract to direct
Environment: In office
Pay rate: up to $33/HR (DOE)
Summary: The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating company resources to accomplish the successful execution of projects on time, in scope, and within budget. Responsibilities include planning, directing, and coordinating activities related to the engineering, manufacturing, shipping, and installation of shelving and platform projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Schedule and participate in “turn over” meetings with Estimating Engineering
- Create a project schedule and hold the organization accountable for meeting time commitments
- Collaborate with manufacturing to determine the ship date and ensure that it is met
- Communicate with customer to determine requirements, provide project updates, and resolve issues
- Ensure project status and health are communicated and understood by all stakeholders
- Work with the CAD team to schedule and ensure the accurate and on time completion of drawings
- Review and verify the accuracy of all drawings related to assigned projects
- Manage installation phase of project coordinating activities with subcontractors and customers
- Coordinate the purchase and delivery of all “buyout” items
- Manage the acquisition of permits and apply to the appropriate regulatory authorities as needed
- Work with outside engineering firms to secure stamped engineering calculations
- Create bill of materials and parts list
- Travel to job sites to understand and resolve customer issues when required
- Recommend and participate in engineering department improvement initiatives
- Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in technical field with a minimum of 2 years of project management experience
- Associates degree or Project Management certification with supporting work experience considered
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Possesses a strong, technical aptitude and can review engineering prints
- Working understanding of 2D and 3D CAD systems
- Experience in material handling or steel structure industry a plus
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to navigate challenging situations
- Energetic self-starter with who can work as part of a team or independently in a fast-paced environment
