Job Summary
The Housing Representative will perform a variety of duties to assist the TDHE Housing and Facilities Director with the day-to-day operations of the program.
Essential Functions
- Maintains and updates policies, procedures, and forms for Housing Programs in accordance with Federal and HUD regulations including but not limited to : Safe Home Program; Transitional Housing Program; Rental Housing Program; Emergency Housing Program; Student Housing Program; Sanding & Snow Plowing Program, in-house elder emergency and in-house sand and snow plowing
- Compile and prepare documents for the Director of TDHE Housing for timely submission of annual reports to the HUD / ONAP office and keeping the essential HUD and NAHASDA forms current and filed correctly
- Maintaining grant reporting for NAHASDA
- Attend Kenaitze / Salamatof TDHE's housing functions Approve Housing Assistance for transitional housing, rental housing, emergency assistance and other TDHE housing programs to Kenaitze / Salamatof TDHE's clients and customers
- Collaborate with Family and Social Services Department in scheduling and completing client intakes and provide referrals to other programs within the Tribe or within the community as required
- Promote healthy Native Families and assist in developing self-sufficiency plans
- Conduct home visits and inspections
- Responsible for customer service and facilitating quality in the Housing Programs
- Communication of conflicts or potential conflicts to the TDHE Housing and Facilities Director
- Develop and maintain client case records through personal interview, phone contacts and collateral contacts to support authorization and / or deny application of person's ineligibility for services using confidentiality in accordance with the Tribe's policies and procedures. Maintain all client files
